Today was another busy day with church followed by Easter celebrations with both families. We had lunch with Ron’s family and watched our nieces and nephews hunt for eggs. Then we had dinner with my family at Applebees. After dinner I picked up a few groceries, including new tulips since my other ones died. I’m a sucker for tulips and they’re perfect for Easter. Hope everyone had a great day with their families and also took time to remember the real reason for the holiday. Happy Easter!

Today was an extremely busy day. Ron and I had errands to run this morning before grabbing a quick lunch and heading to church for the spring fling. The turnout was amazing with way more people than expected, which meant a lot of work. I’ll admit I kind of had a cushy job taking photos, but it was basically three straight hours of walking around shooting. After the spring fling, we stopped by my parents house and then headed to the grocery store and picked up dinner before coming home and dying our eggs. Tomorrow will be just as busy with church and Easter gatherings with both of our families, but I love Easter so I don’t mind. I just wish it were a little more springy outside.

It may look like winter outside, but inside I’m fully embracing spring. My Easter decorations are up, I have sparkly eggs in my table centerpiece and a vase of pink tulips in the living room. Now if I could just get some warm weather and sunshine that would be great, preferably before Sunday since I bought a new dress for Easter.

Target gave out the best free samples today! If you didn’t already know, Sundays at Target are free sample days. Starting usually around 11ish, they have mobile kitchens set up and offer all sorts of samples, I’m guessing until they run out. Today was the best I’ve seen in a long time. They gave out miniature Lindt chocolate rabbits and coupon books for Easter. Amazing! And yes, I’m probably more excited about these than I should be, but I love freebies and I’m super appreciative of things like this.

I was so excited today when I was in Walmart and saw these! It’s like Christmas all over again! I love these things and they’re out super early this year, which is kind of sad because that means holidays are being rushed, but I do love my holiday candy. Yay!

For Easter, I made two of these cakes, one for lunch at Ron’s grandparent’s house and one for a cookout at my parent’s house. I made them last night and Ron helped me. I found the idea on Pinterest, of course, and the cakes turned out great. Sadly, we ran out of Kit Kat Bars last night and Ron made an emergency run to 7-11 to get some more. I’m nostalgic for the days when candy was cheap. Five packs of Kit Kats was $8. That’s pretty ridiculous, but I guess it was worth it since the cakes turned out great. However, should you try to make these, please note it takes approximately 56 Kit Kat Bars to circle a nine-inch cake, not 36 like some woman online said. Happy Easter!

Ron and I dyed eggs tonight for Easter. We had purchased a dyeing kit last year, but never got a chance to use it. So we pulled it out tonight and used it to make out egg creations. I think they turned out pretty well.

The closet Wookie strikes again. My wreath crashed down in the middle of the night and snapped into three pieces. I thought the noise, which woke me up but somehow not Buddy, was just the marker cup thing that has fallen off the fridge before. But when I got up this morning there was the wreath with eggs everywhere. I was able to piece it back together today with toothpicks and more hot glue, but I haven’t put it back up yet. I don’t want it to crash and break even worse.

Apparently Panera shares my love of Easter. This is one of their cookies that are currently available. And yes, if you know me you know that even though I bought one tonight I still haven’t eaten it yet. It’s too pretty.

I found the cutest Easter placemats at Target. Sadly, Buddy chewed a small hole in one so I’ll probably have to replace it, but it’s not too bad. I just think they’re super festive and springy. And, bonus, they’re only $3 each. Score!
