After dinner, Ron made me gluten free sugar cookies. He even added Halloween sprinkles. They were so good! I’m so thankful for my husband who isn’t afraid to get his chef on and embraces my gluten free lifestyle. Thanks boo!
I think I may have went overboard with the cookie baking. I have a lot of cookies to eat and I don’t even eat that many cookies. Gosh.
I continued my baking today with sugar cookies and peppermint swirl cookies. Really, I should have just done chocolate chip or something easy. Sugar cookies are such a pain. I love them though and they turned out fine. The peppermint swirls are fine too, just not round enough. Oh well. Cookies are cookies, right?
I finally got the chance to do some baking today. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I made these really intense stained glass cookies. It’s basically a sugar cookie with melted candy in the center to look like glass. They were pretty meticulous to make with cutting everything out and pouring the crushed candy in. Taste wise it’s like a cookie-candy thing. I can’t really explain it. Tomorrow I’m going to do some more baking and also make pretzels.
Apparently Panera shares my love of Easter. This is one of their cookies that are currently available. And yes, if you know me you know that even though I bought one tonight I still haven’t eaten it yet. It’s too pretty.
Leap Day rocks! There were all sorts of crazy deals out today in celebration of the pseudo-holiday. Had I been off work and had the time I probably would have taken advantage of them all. Sadly I only got one, but I’m very appreciative of my free Subway cookie. And even though it poured all day I’d still say Leap Day rocks.
I baked some more cookies last night. There were a lot more then. I think some were eaten.
I finally made some Christmas cookies today. I usually start way earlier, but today was the first time I found the time to actually cook. I was also able to get all the remaining presents wrapped and under the tree. Ron and I also made some presents last night and I finished them today with some decorative touches. Now it’s time for bed. Something’s been going around and I don’t feel that great. Every year since I was little I’ve always managed to get sick at the holidays. I’m trying everything to fight it, but we’ll see how it goes.
Two cookie posts in a row; I’m beginning to feel like a fatty. But these cookies are amazing. They’re Christmas sugar cookies that only cost $1 a bag and they’re so much better than the expensive kind. I can never find them, but my parents are able to track them down at Rose’s. Now I just have to try not to eat the whole bag.
I found a little friend at Panera today. It was the last one and a long line so I thought someone else would get it before me. Now the problem is it’s too cute to eat. I have this problem with everything. Chocolate rabbits at Easter, fancy cookies and super decorated cupcakes. I think I’ll just let him live in the bag for a little while.
