Otani has to be the most amazing restaurant ever. I know I’ve said it before, but wow, it’s delicious! And, of course it’s always better when you go for a reason. Happy birthday Ronnie and Briana!
Today was a full day. This morning we celebrated the baptism of some friends at church, then we had lunch and did our usual Sunday grocery shopping. We then headed home and started our laundry before heading back out to dinner for Ron’s grandfather’s birthday. When we got home we finished the laundry, gave Buddy a bath since he’s been itching for the past two days after I put his new flea stuff on (which we probably won’t be using again), washed all of his stuff and did some serious pre-beach cleaning. This is going to be a busy week before we leave for vacation so tomorrow will be busy as well, but vacation is on the horizon so we’ll make it work.
Today, Ron and I attended a first birthday party for his cousin, Thomas. It was a gorgeous day for photos so I definitely took my camera and I got some great shots. It was outdoors, had a great book theme and tons of balloons. And seriously, how perfect is this tractor? It completely justifies my 350 photos of one birthday party. Happy birthday, Thomas!
Today is my nephew, Tasker’s, birthday. His party is supposed to be tomorrow night, weather permitting. Either way, he’s now officially 3-years-old and he’s getting older so fast. We gave him puzzles for his birthday where you match the letters up with a picture to spell whatever the picture is. So like for bus, it shows a picture of a bus and has the letter spaces to spell out the word bus. He was sitting at the counter after he opened it calling out all the letters and matching them up. It’s like he’s maturing over night. It’s pretty cool to watch.
Today is Ron’s birthday. We both had to work, him later than me, so I made him a birthday dinner. I made my turkey meatloaf, which he loves, along with corn and mashed potatoes, both Ron approved sides. His family made him chocolate birthday muffins, which his niece was so proud of. Even with work factored in, I think he still had a great birthday.
Today is my niece’s sixth birthday! She had a few friends over for a Princess Party, which was pretty cool. “Cinderella” came and sang songs, played games, read a story and face painted. Bri loved it and all her friends loved it as well. She had a great party and I can’t believe she’s already six. Happy birthday Bri. Love you girl.
Es mi cumpleanos! Ron got me an ice cream cake, which I was super excited about and which I ate way too much of. It was amazing! I wish I didn’t spend my birthday at work and sitting in meetings, but it’s okay since I’m off Friday for my birthday and Monday for the holiday. I’m excited for a long weekend. And thanks for all the birthday wishes. I really appreciate them and I’m so grateful and blessed that I have such great friends and family. Adios 26 and hola 27!
Tomorrow is my birthday! Twenty-seven. Whoosh! I don’t really feel like I’m in my late-twenties, so I guess that’s a good thing. People act like 27 is old but I feel pretty young.
For my upcoming birthday, World Market sent me $10 off any purchase with the exclusion of alcohol, with no minimum purchase required. Awesome! I bought three sodas, two Lindt white chocolate truffles and a plastic lunch box thing. So far I’ve only tried the Pig Cola, but it’s really good. None of that high fructose corn syrup either, but instead cane sugar. I may have to get some more. Thanks World Market for the birthday gift!
This week, my nephew, Guy, will turn four so today he had a birthday party at Chuck-e-Cheese. The place was insane. I like games, in fact I would probably be classified as a closet gamer, but there should be some sort of limit to the amount of people that can be packed into Chuck-e-Cheese at one time. There was actually a line to get in the door and then, once inside, there were children and parents everywhere. It seems like they were all screaming at the same time as well. Oh well, at least Guy seemed to have a great time. Everyone was handed him tickets so he ended up with a ridiculous amount and I’m sure he picked something great with them, although in true child fashion, by the time you counted up the cost of the tokens to win those tickets, you probably could have drove across to Target and bought the toy for much less. But, it’s the thrill of the game that keeps people from doing that. There’s something exciting about hitting buttons and seeing little pieces of paper spit out, even for adults. Or maybe more for adults since we know those tickets are like gold in a place like Chuck-e-Cheese. The more tickets you have the more amazing you are and doesn’t that translate into all aspects of life? Isn’t that why we buy the uber over-priced shoes and the Land Rovers? Except for me, because I’m a clearance whore. If I have to pay full price, I’m not buying it no matter what it is. Yet, I fell into the Chuck-e-Cheese trap. The allure of the tickets and the little golden tokens got to me. And we were there to celebrate a birthday and what fun would the birthday boy have had if we didn’t all participate? Absolutely none, of course. Happy (almost) birthday, Guy!
