With VBS complete, today was all about celebrating Independence Day. I know it’s not technically the holiday yet, but the county held its big celebration today since the fourth is on a Thursday. I like celebrating the fourth. It’s a fun, outdoor game, picnic, firework holiday. We had a great time!
VBS wrapped up tonight, or technically yesterday due to the time, so now it’s on to the picnic tomorrow. I’m almost finished with the slideshow and have to upload the photos into the gallery, but then my VBS work is complete. I hope I got everyone on the slideshow and not just the same kids, but I guess we’ll see tomorrow. Or today…
Vacation Bible school continues! I switched up my side during the closing program and snapped this photo of one of the props, which I think is pretty fun. Tomorrow is group picture night so I’ll get to experience the task of trying to get about 100 children to pose for a photo. Definitely something that I feel will be a learning experience. The children have all been great though. It’s fun to watch them make friends and enjoy all VBS has to offer. They all seem to be having a great time and the numbers keep growing so they must be telling their friends how great it is.
The second night of VBS was a success! And I really think someone has been Pinteresting because this was tonight’s snack. Roller coaster tracks made out of marshmallows, twizzlers and toothpicks. Pretty cool. It feeds into my secret desire to be an event planner. My future children are going to have amazing birthday parties. And yes tonight’s photo is a screenshot. Stupid Facebook won’t let me download my photo that I took tonight and uploaded. Grr.
Tonight marked the start of vacation Bible school at church. It’s “Colossal Coaster World” this year so we have a roller coaster in the sanctuary and all the rooms have an amusement park theme. It was a great opening night and all the children seemed like they had a great time. I’m going to have to get some of them to teach me how to finger weave. I want a headband 🙂 I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store. I may need to calm my shutter happy self down though because if I take as many photos as I did tonight I’ll have over 2,000 by the end of the week. Oops.
This will probably be my last bottle of water for quite some time after this weekend. I’m planning on checking out “Tapped,” a documentary on the bottled water business. Apparently, it’s not so great and the water itself is a little fishy. I’m not saying bottled water is all bad. For some people who have bad water at their homes, bottled water is a great alternative. And bottled water is essential during a power outage. But for those of us that have no problems with our water, why are we spending money to buy water when we could use a filter and a BPA free water bottle for much less cost? Crazy!
