Ron made dinner tonight, again. With all of the craziness going on at work ans then trying to finish up these wedding photos my home duties have really been slacking. Plus I covered a GED graduation tonight so I didn’t get home until 7:30ish. I really appreciate that he steps up when I can’t and dinner was great. Hopefully I can get my cook on again soon and make something great.
I just got my first Bzz Agent campaign in the mail today and I can’t wait to review the product. I’ve actually been considering insoles for my athletic shoes so this couldn’t come at a better time. I plan on trying them out this week and I’ll be sure to blog the results. I also have a stack of $4 off coupons, good for either the men’s or women’s insoles, so let me know if you want one.
Memorial Day Chinese. I know it’s usually a barbecue, hot dogs on the grill type holiday, but I’ve been wanting Chinese for weeks so no better time than tonight. Really, I didn’t do anything holiday-ish this weekend. I shot a wedding, started going through photos, went to the movies and ate Chinese. It was too cold for the pool and I didn’t grill out or attend any Memorial Day events. I had planned to make some gluten free cupcakes, but didn’t get around to it. Oops. I’ll try to be better when fourth of July rolls around. I am, however, thankful and grateful for our troops who give up so much so that we have freedom. Thanks to all of you. Happy Memorial Day!
I shot a beautiful outdoor wedding today with a friend. It was amazing. The weather was nice, but a little cold for late-May. Everyone still seemed to have a good time though and the bride looked great. I love outdoor weddings because they’re a little more laidback and I feel like they’re also a little more creative. There were some great DIY touches at this wedding with the centerpieces, favors and more. I love DIY. I think it adds a little something extra rather than just having the same store bought decorations that everyone else has. And now I still have two days left to my weekend. Happy almost Memorial Day and congrats to the bride and groom!
Finally got some plants in the ground today! I had been waiting for it to dry out since it’s rained pretty much Monday through Wednesday for the past few weeks. Ron and I were able to get tomatoes, peppers, squash, okra, zucchini and pumpkins in the ground today at my parents’ house. Since we rent a basement apartment we don’t have garden space and we tried it last year in his parents’ yard so we’re switching up spots this year. Mom and Dad have a really large garden space we planted when I was younger so it’s perfect. Hopefully we’ll get some good veggies for both them and us, plus my mom is going to plant some flowers in there too. Can’t wait to harvest some veggies!
How this is comfortable I don’t know, but Buddy seems to like it. I tried to get a subsequent photo of him once he moved because his ears were all cockeyed, but I he moved. It’s off to the vet for him tomorrow so he can get some routine vaccinations and his annual wellness exam. He actually likes the vet though so it shouldn’t be a problem. He cuddles up to the veternarians.
On my weekly Target grocery run I found some new gluten free options–one of which I tried today. Evol makes a gluten free, all natural, low fat chicken teriyaki bowl. I tried it today for lunch and it was great! They have some other gluten free options that I’m going to check out, including gluten free chicken burritos. I’ve never had a burrito before (welcome to life with stomach issues) so I can’t wait to try one. Kudos to Target for adding more gluten free and all natural options to their inventory. This gluten free person is loving it!
Finally Seventeen has learned their demographic. We should be teaching the younger generation about fiscal responsibility, especially in this economy. Why would a magazine catering to young women promote products and clothing they can’t afford? The $20 dress is just as great as the $200 one. Granted it would have to be a great dress for $20 as I tend to pay more around $15, but I’m a couponer and I take advantage of sales. That’s what we should be teaching the younger generation. I’m happy to see Seventeen including the occasional coupon and less expensive items in their magazine. Now if we could just get the others on board.
