Santa Paws was so good to Buddy this year that his toys are taking over his crate. He has to move them around to make room to lay down, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. He loves his toys and actually looks pretty depressed for a couple of hours if you throw any of the pieces away.

I was so excited today when I was in Walmart and saw these! It’s like Christmas all over again! I love these things and they’re out super early this year, which is kind of sad because that means holidays are being rushed, but I do love my holiday candy. Yay!

The ring finally came out of my Cinnamon Pinecone Diamond Candle. It’s a pretty yellowish-green princess cut stone with small diamond-ish stones on either side of it. I really like it, but it’s too big. There aren’t any markings on it so I don’t know if it’s actually worth anything, but it’s still pretty. Now I need a new candle.

I used my SodaStream today! When I got home from work Ron and I made cola using the machine. It’s similar to a Mexican Coke because it has real sugar and not high fructose corn syrup. It took a couple tries, but we finally got a batch that was drinkable. I actually think we put a little too much carbonation in it, but it’s pretty close. We’ll have to keep working on it to perfect it, but it’s pretty cool. I can’t wait to try new flavors.

Santa came today. Ignore the camera since I ordered that in conjunction with Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I haven’t loaded the software yet, so I just tucked it under the tree to get it off the table. Ron, Buddy and I had a nice holiday, visiting with my parents and his family. Santa Paws came to Buddy and left his with pig ears and toys. My parents also gave him a sock monkey and another toy, which he loves. My parents gave me a Soda Stream, which I’m super excited about. I’ve been looking at them for quite a while, but couldn’t pull the trigger and buy one. I tend to visit things in stores over and over without buying. Call it a quirk. I can’t wait to start making my own soda. I’d say Ron’s favorite present was probably from his parents–a tub filled with fancy, off-the-wall beers. I hope everyone else had a great holiday and everyone also remembers that Christmas isn’t about presents, but about Christ and kindness and giving. The presents are a nice bonus, but its really all about spending time with loved ones and sharing kindness. Merry Christmas!

For about an hour or two this morning there was a white Christmas. I was at work and the snow was coming down, the first of the season. It was my kind of snow too. It looked pretty, but it didn’t stick and cause any problems.

I continued my baking today with sugar cookies and peppermint swirl cookies. Really, I should have just done chocolate chip or something easy. Sugar cookies are such a pain. I love them though and they turned out fine. The peppermint swirls are fine too, just not round enough. Oh well. Cookies are cookies, right?

I finally got the chance to do some baking today. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I made these really intense stained glass cookies. It’s basically a sugar cookie with melted candy in the center to look like glass. They were pretty meticulous to make with cutting everything out and pouring the crushed candy in. Taste wise it’s like a cookie-candy thing. I can’t really explain it. Tomorrow I’m going to do some more baking and also make pretzels.
