Today I took my camera and dropped it off to be cleaned, which is pretty nerve wracking actually. After dropping it off, Ron took me to the outdoor mall in Charlottesville since I’ve never been there. Its an open area with brick walkways and various stores along the way. It’s pretty nice. In one part they have this public chalkboard which is cool because people write messages on it in all sorts of different chalk colors.

  1. Madeleine says:

This has a cool backstory: it was the winner of a design competition to create a free speech monument after students were arrested at UVA for protesting UVA’s stance on fair wage for employees. I think it works really well as a visual and practical monument! I’m glad you enjoyed Charlottesville!
