For the second week in a row, my computer crapped out today at work. Hopefully the I.T. person will come fix it tomorrow since they didn’t make it there today. In the meantime, I’ve been banished to the conference room because the only computer that works is in there. And it only sort of works, but at least I have a window. It’s the little things in life.

Summer is back! Unofficially of course. I love this time of year. It’s nice outside, the pool is open, I can soak up some sun, etc. I don’t care for the snakes, bees and storms but you have to take the good with the bad. Poor Buddy though; I think he’s already feeling the dog days of summer. The hot weather and his curly coat don’t mix. I’m going to see about getting him an appointment to get groomed. Maybe if we shave his coat down, he’ll be more of a summer dog. And, thank you to all those currently serving or who have served our country. I appreciate all you do or have done. Freedom isn’t free.

After a quick hour at an overly crowded pool, Ron and I went to Sweetfrog. For those of you unfamiliar with the amazingness of Sweetfrog, it’s a frozen yogurt shop where about a dozen flavors are in slurpee style machines built into the wall. And the business is Christian-based. Frog is an acronym for “fully rely on God.” After filling your cup with the flavor/flavors of your choice, you can then add a wide variety of different toppings including fruit and candy. As you can see, I got the strawberry flavor and added sprinkles and a few Sour Patch. Ron always shakes his head at me because not only do I use a bazillion sprinkles, but I also fill my cup to the brim and you pay based on weight. Oops! I’m really not good with food/dessert that’s charged based on weight. The same thing happens at Wegmans and I end up paying $15 for a styrofoam container of Chinese food. I’m much better with things that have flat rate prices.

Tonight Ron and I watched the Woman in Black. It was okay. Some parts were actually creepy, but the ending left a lot to be desired. I think the movie wore Buddy out though because there’s a dog in the movie and when it would bark, Buddy would look for the dog. He finally built himself a little cave and sacked out. Or maybe he was hiding from the woman in black.

I wasn’t able to get everything done today at work so I had to bring work home. I went ahead and got it all done tonight so I wouldn’t have to worry about it all weekend–minus one article about a seafood farmer which I’m still working on. At least it’s all done so I can enjoy my long weekend.

My African Violet is blooming! It almost died a few weeks ago, but I was able to save it. After that, it bloomed a really deep purple bloom and now other blooms are starting to open. The new ones are a lot lighter, so I’m wondering if they’ll get the same color as the original one. It’s really pretty though and I’m glad it survived.

Last week, I finally got my free year subscription to Shape. I filled out some random survey and figured the magazine would never actually come, but sure enough it did. I also received a free year of Maxim. I ordered it for Ron, but I actually like the way they advertise gadgets in it. I wish women’s magazines did the same thing. I’m still waiting on Ebony and Rachel Ray (both of which I got the same way). There’s tons of crazy freebies out there if you just look for them. A good start is joining a blog like Sea of Savings or Freebies 2 Deals, both of which post about deals you may not have found otherwise.

Came home from work and did more work. Always lovely, especially when I had to cover a meeting tonight. But really it was probably my fault. If I get too distracted during the week, I have to play catch up on Monday and Tuesday.
