This post is about an hour late, first time ever, but that’s what happens when you don’t get home until 1 a.m. Today Ron and I went to Howl-o-Scream at Busch Gardens. The park was massively packed when we got there around 4 p.m. Less than an hour after we got in the park closed to any additional guests because it reached capacity, so we just barely made it. The lines were long, but they moved along so they were manageable. We were able to hit three of the five haunted houses and all of the scream areas. One of the houses we missed was carried over from last year and we didn’t enjoy it then. The other one was new, but was in the same location as one from last year that wasn’t very good. Other than that we didn’t really ride anything as we mostly came for the Halloween-related activities. The one thing I have to say is the park as a whole was great. They had monsters jumping out of everywhere. The thing that irritated us is everything clearly says the park turns scary after 6 p.m. and parents were encouraged to leave with small children. However, there were parents with sobbing children everywhere. We actually heard people say they wish the park said it wasn’t family friendly. Did you miss the disclaimer on the map and the various signs? Take your kids home. The rest of us want to experience the haunts. If little Sally’s going to cry, take her home.

Ahhh… the unwashed, uninformed and unlearned masses. People have forgotten, or gotten too lazy, to read even the signs screaming at them. Or perhaps, they have just gotten too entitled and feel that the rules do not and should not apply to them. Oh well… You can’t beat ’em so you may as well ignore the bad behavior.
