Ron made dinner tonight. Chicken, steamed broccoli and rice. It was healthy and tasty. Also, it was very nice to come home and not have to cook, which I really appreciate.
Boys and their toys. After months of wishing and hoping, Ron finally got his flat screen television. We didn’t really plan on it, but we received a good deal. However, I don’t subscribe to the hype. To me, a television is a television, regardless if it’s flat, Lcd, Led, Plasma, black and white, tube, etc. I just don’t get it. It’s nice, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t “ooh” and “aah” over the high-definition quality. I’m not overly excited because I can see grass fly off cleats or watch sweat drip down a linebacker’s face. I don’t think I actually like the HD part. In fact, watching Criminal Minds in HD freaks me out. There are some shows that just shouldn’t be displayed in a realistic format. Maybe I’ll get used to it. I’ m open to it. Now if I could just get this gigantic box with its tremendous amount of junk out of my kitchen, I’d really be in business.
Anna’s birthday card. Did a little doodling to spruce the envelope up a bit. Card companies should really do that. A plan white envelope is boring. It certainly doesn’t say happy birthday. Also, I realized I don’t have any crayons or colored pencils here. Definitely need to remedy that. Happy 23rd birthday, Anna!
I wake up, get ready for work and go outside to find what? Oh yeah, more snow. And bonus, my car somehow slid off the driveway and got stuck. So work from home it was, again. One day is kind of nice, but two in a row isn’t. Especially when you were all ready to go and probably everyone else in the area was able to get out. At least my car is now unstuck as of 5:30 p.m. I really hope Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow Wednesday because I could really use a quick spring. Six more weeks of winter is too dreadful to even think about.
Since I was basically stuck in the house all day, I decided to do a little decorating. I’ve had these frames for a while, I just hadn’t done anything with them. I still have one more to put up and two more like this, except white, that I need to put pictures in. The walls look better with something on them, but it’s kind of crazy that I’ve been here four months and I’m just now decorating.
Oh goodie, more snow. I can’t wait until spring. Winter weather is great when you’re a kid and snow equals a day off. And I guess it’s probably great when you have a job where you get off work for snow, not because you just can’t make it there, but rather because your entire place of employment shuts down. If you’re like most people though, snow means you either suck it up and risk everything to get to where you have to be or you take the day off and work from home. Either way, snow does not equal a day off.
This is what I followed on my way to work today. What you can’t see is that the trailer is apparently attached by chains which causes it to sway to the left and right as it goes down the road. However, I’m pretty sympathetic. I know that chances are this man’s farm was established long before this road started running through it, so I just slow down, increase my following space and crank the radio up. Honestly, I was more curious about how this older man was going to remove these massive hay bales off the trailer that complaining because I had to follow behind him. Now, if only everyone else was more like that.
I had a late meeting tonight for work which means something quick and easy for dinner. Well, actually my second dinner because I usually eat something before the meeting and then something again when I get home. (I’m trying this eat every three hours thing, but I won’t get into that right now.) Anyway, I’m kind of in love with the new Lean Cuisine steam-able meals to share. 8 mins. 30 secs. in the microwave and you have something actually edible and apparently healthy too. Not to mention, tasty. Now if they were just a little bit cheaper, I’d be in business.
I received the book, “Hello, Cupcake” for Christmas this year and I’m so excited to use it. However, I haven’t yet had the time to devote to creating my cupcake masterpiece. So after looking through the book tonight, I decided I should start off with something seasonally appropriate yet not too difficult. This is what I’ve decided on. I’m going to make some awesome penguin cupcakes with awesome fish-decorated cupcakes. Now that I have my first project picked out, I just have to find the time to make it happen. Hopefully I’ll be posting a picture of my masterpiece soon, at least within the next few weeks.
So I read somewhere on some blog that one should include a picture of themselves occasionally on their 365. Something about being able to look back and see how you’ve changed throughout the year. Here we go then I guess. I’ll try to post one self-portrait type photo every month. I’m not expecting to see much change, but I’ll try it.
